Flowers in the Trash

Flowers in the Trash - NiExshadow

Bought flowers on the way home

Didn't know you were already gone

They're still sitting on the table like they're waiting on you

Your phone was quiet, your eyes were cold

You said we're done like it was small

I held those flowers in my hands, didn't know what else to do

I thought love was something we kept

Something we tried to save

But you let it fall so easy

Like it meant nothing to you

Now the flowers are in the trash

Just like all our plans

Everything I tried to give

Slipped right through your hands

Flowers in the trash tonight

Petals breaking like my heart

I gave you love, you let it die

Flowers in the trash

We used to talk until sunrise

Dream about forever days

Now forever feels like a word you didn't mean to say

The side of the bed is empty

Your name still fills my head

I keep replaying every line of everything you said

I keep asking what went wrong

When did you change your mind?

I was holding on to us

You were leaving me behind

Now the flowers are in the trash

Just like all our plans

Everything I tried to give

Slipped right through your hands

Flowers in the trash tonight

Petals breaking like my heart

I gave you love, you let it die

Flowers in the trash

Love was fragile, I was careful

I held it soft, I held it true

But you threw it away so easy

Like it never mattered to you

I'd pick those flowers up again if it could bring you back

But some things once they're thrown away never find their way back

Flowers in the trash

In the trash

Flowers in the trash

Flowers in the trash tonight

That's where our love lies now

Flowers in the trash, in the trash

And I don't know how to save us now

I walked away with empty hands

And tears I couldn't hide

Flowers in the trash behind me

Just like our goodbye
